Large Madrone platter bowl with Heron design

This large 14 X 3" Bowl is hand turned from wet Madrone wood and then slowly dried. Madrone wood is highly prized by woodturners and warps as it dries creating wonderfully organic shapes which I believe simply add to the interest and unique qualities of the piece. This bowl has become somewhat ovoid with the width varying by almost and inch. Once dry a tribal design that I have titled"Heron" was hand drawn onto the bowl using archival India ink. This bowl has been treated to make it functional as well as beautiful.
