Hand turned Madrone bowl title "Flight of Fancy"

This 8.5 wide by 4.5 high bowl has been hand turned from wet Madrone bowl, allowed to slowly dry and then been hand painted in this interesting bird Tribal design in water color pencils and archival India ink.

Madrone or Arbutus is a difficult but exciting wood to work with, it warps as it dries creating wonderfully organic shapes with graceful curves and natural irregularities. These simply add to the interest and unique qualities of the piece.

Madrone wood is highly prized by most woodturners!
